Hi! I'm Iggy. I've worked as a babysitter, nanny, after school counselor, and outdoor education instructor. I'm a certified lifeguard, CPR/first-aid trained, and I have my youth mental health first aid certification. I have experience with ages 1-18, and have experience working with children with mental and physical disabilities. I'm new to the Champaign-Urbana area and would love to connect with some local families! My favorite part of working with kids is helping them embrace their creativity and curiosity. I love finding what kiddos love to do and supporting them in it, whether it's building a pillow fort, reading aloud together, or playing outside. I respect the intelligence and independence of the kids I work with, and try to provide gentle, discovery-based guidance when needed. P.S. I used to work at an animal shelter and my house is basically a menagerie at any given time, so pets are a bonus and I'd love to help care for them as well!

I have been a caretaker as early as I can remember. I started babysitting for children in my neighborhood in middle school. I went to college and obtained my degree in Early Childhood Education. I raised three daughters of my own. The majority of my jobs over the past twenty five years have been caring for young children. I have acquired some great experience and lessons over the years. Let me start by saying that I am available immediately. I am retired and find I have way too much time on my hands.  I wanted to do something to fill some of the time so I decided I would like to start watching children for people that need a dependable and caring person while they work outside of the home.  I know for a fact that it is a huge relief just knowing when you work outside of the home and you have someone there that is watching over your little ones that is dependable and caring -- that can mean everything.  I have raised 2 daughters and have cared for my 6 grandchildren throughout their years of growing.  Right now their ages are 14, 18, 19, 20, 21 and the oldest being 33 years old and out on his own. When I'm not caring for your children I like to be with my grandchildren as much as possible and go to their sporting events. Spending time with family is very important to me. My preference would probably be to care for children 3 and over. I look forward to being able to come into your home and care for your children while they are in my care. I will do my best to be someone they look forward to seeing when I'm there. .  

I like being a sitter because I truly enjoy spending time with children and helping them feel safe, supported, and cared for. I have experience working with children of different ages, preparing simple meals, following bedtime routines, and keeping them engaged with age-appropriate activities. I’m reliable, patient, and attentive. I always try to adapt to each child’s personality and needs. I also bring strong communication skills, basic first-aid knowledge, and the ability to stay calm and problem-solve which helps me keep both kids and parents comfortable and confident.
