I am a current college student enrolled at NIU. I want to be a caregiver to be there for kids and be a system they can rely on. Not only to be there for homework or to make a snack but also to be someone they can trust. Knowing I can positively influence a child's life is why I'm a caregiver. I aim to support families by offering reliable childcare. My year of experience caring for children aged four and up has equipped me with the skills to provide engaging and safe care for up to many children. I am patient, creative, and friendly. I enjoy playing board games, puzzles, video games, and educational apps. I always follow the parents' lead when enforcing household rules. Communication is key, so I provide updates via text or phone call, and I am happy to follow your preferred method. I am comfortable with pets. I am CPR and First Aid trained. I genuinely want to be a reliable and safe option for your family. I look forward to bringing my calm energy and love for learning to your home.

Being a sitter can make you feel a sense of fulfillment by providing care and support while building a positive relationship with the children and their families. It’s a job where you can be creative, active, and make a meaningful impact on young lives. Growing up as the oldest coming from a big family you take on a lot of responsibilities and skills like communication, patience, understanding of child development stances, adaptability, problem solving, safety awareness, the availability to stay calm under pressure, and being able to foster a child’s social, emotional, and intellectual growth through engaging activities. Hi- My name is Darion Grant and I'm new. I decided to become a Manny because I love kids and being a part of their development and growth. I don't have any kids of my own but I have been wanting kids for a long time so I could care for and raise a child how I wish I was raised as I wasn't raised by either of my parents and was instead raised by my Great Aunt who is my inspiration. She also didn't have any kids of her own because unfortunately she had a couple of miscarriages but she was everyone's babysitter and she always made me and the other kids feel like she was our other mother. She cooked, cleaned, taught us manners and respect, and she had plenty of toys and games for us to play and she always treated us how she would if we were her kids. So she babysat to fulfill those urges of having kids and everything that comes with it. I am doing this in memory of my Aunt and also because I just really want the fulfillment of caring for children. I know it's a lot of work but simply being a part of children's growth and development I feel like is worth every second. I do have some experience. I had a stepdaughter that I helped take care of for over a year by helping out with the cooking, cleaning, transportation, school work, I would play games with her. I've also babysat a toddler where I would get up every few hours to check on her. I've helped baby sit newborns as well by changing diapers and cleaning up after them. I'm really hoping someone will give me a chance to be a Manny. I would love the experiences of what it's like to be a parent without having kids because unfortunately, it's just not working out for me having my own. So any and all kids that I care for would be treated as if they were my own.

I've had a lot of experience working with kids in the past 4 years, not necessarily in paid positions, but for my education as well. I'm skilled at engaging with kids and providing them with a caring person to talk to and have fun with. With a degree in Elementary education, I'm able to provide learning experiences for your children as well and help them get excited to learn. I have experience working as a lifeguard, and know first aid and CPR, so you can be put at ease that your child will be safe with me.

I've been a sitter since I was a little kid in the neighborhood. But I've done consistant sitting the last 3/4 years. I've taken care of kids during the pandemic. I've worked with multiple kids at a time, and kids as young as 2 years old. I've watched kids with special needs. I also use to be a swim instructer and swim coach so I have experience working with kids for years. I'm cpr and first aid certified from my time as a lifeguard. I've just finished my associates at Kish

Hi! I currently take care of a 1 year old for one family and a 3 and 8 year old for another family! I have my BLS (CPR and AED) certification. I love playing games, helping with homework and academic skills, being able to help with communication/speaking, and being goofy and fun but also keeping these children safe. Growing up I took care of my little brother all the time. I have babysat for friends and family as well. I love kids, animals, cleaning. I adore all 3. I love to read. I have my associates in Science and I am going for my bachelors in neuroscience soon. My dream is to be a neurosurgeon! I am a very fun, energetic, outgoing, and bubbly person. I am an outdoorsy person as well, I just ran half a marathon with my dad and it was amazing. I also like to fish with my boyfriend. I have been with my boyfriend for 6 years we now live in Dekalb with our cute little cat named Luna. Occasionally I like to play video games as well. That is pretty much me! :)

I am an undergraduate student at Northern Illinois University studying music education. I enjoy having fun and building connections with children of all ages! Also, I am CPR/AED certified and skilled at being flexible, patient, and observant. I have experience working with kids as a camp counselor, an assistant at a percussion camp, and a bike instructor. During the summer, I am a counselor at Camp Kesem, a summer camp for children who are impacted by a parents' cancer diagnosis. As a camp counselor, I lead activities, constantly supervise, and engage with campers in education and play. Recently, I worked weekly as a bike instructor at Pedalheads. I taught many kids how to ride a bike without training wheels! I helped children reach this milestone by creating lesson plans, implementing games, and providing lots of feedback and encouragement.
