Hi! My name is Mckenna, I just turned 18 and I am about to start college to be a k-3rd teacher! I just recently found 1 year ago that child care is my passion. Although I have been taking care of children since I was 14 years old, I truly believe that it is my purpose in life to help children thrive in this ever changing world. I’m aware that this line of work is often looked down on and is not very well liked by people my age, although I do believe that this is what I am meant to do and look forward to making this a full time career. Hi families big and small! I am 26yo and have been caring for children since I was 15. Shortly before I turned 18 and graduated high school, I worked at a Daycare for about 2 years. I continued to babysit after that job, employed by family for 2 years and I have also assisted as a marching band color guard coach for several high and middle school programs throughout middle Tennessee since 2019. My experience in childcare spans from infants, toddlers and school-age children, as I often assisted with different age groups weekly while working at the daycare. I have worked professionally as a preschool teacher on and off since 2008. My most recent position was held in 2024, working with infants. Over the course of my time as a preschool teacher, I have worked with children of all ages. During my time, I have gone through childhood education courses, as well as first aid/CPR courses, receiving my certification. In addition, I have experience working as a private nanny; mostly working with infants and toddlers. I have a lot of personal experience with pet sitting and pet caregiving, so I am comfortable with pets. Aside from being the main one who upkeeps my living space, I have a background in housekeeping. I spent some time working inside of a veteran home (assisted living) cleaning resident rooms and common areas with cross training in laundry, so I am comfortable with household chores. I love being a sitter because I love kids. I love helping and being there for families if they need me. I’m have been in childcare for 3 years now and still is. I am a lead teacher at The Red Barn.
