Hi. I'm a social worker and I am available over the upcoming Thanksgiving vacation. I thoroughly enjoy being with kids, infants included, and they seem to enjoy being with me as well I have experience through the full range from infants to teens, special needs as well. I'm reliable, responsible, with lots of common sense.I have a reliable car and am a good driver. School: studied with Piaget, child development, infant language acquisition. Love playing board games, reading to kids, helping with homework... scooting around with littler ones and making up games. I'm a tennis player, swimmer, used to shooting baskets, riding bikes, practicing soccer, batting as well...pretend, dress-up, crafts and shuttling kids "around town". I have a good sense of humor and fun and am easy with kids pushing the limits with babysitters...to a certain extent (e.g. bedtimes, # books, TV/computer.) Each family is unique too and I think it's important to understand what Is and isn't important for your family. I have experience with overnights as well. I am comfortable with pets and a non-smoker. Hi! My name is Alynah, and I’m a 4th-year medical student. I recently moved to Boston to work at Harvard/BIDMC on a research fellowship prior to graduating with my MD. I am well-trained to handle various situations and am certified in BLS, CPR, and First Aid. As the oldest of four children and 26 grandchildren, I have spent much of my life watching, feeding, cleaning up after, playing with, and teaching kids of all ages. Since joining Sittercity, I have babysat 14 children between 10 months and 10 years and had a blast every time! I really enjoy kids! They are naturally authentic and interested in the world. I studied Math and Education in college, and got teaching experience in classrooms ranging from kindergarten to high school. I got certified to teach secondary math, and went on to do a year of Americorps service after college. I moved to Boston in 2007 and began babysitting until I figured out what was next. I enjoyed what I was doing so much that I went on to become a full time nanny the following year. I worked for three years for a family with three children- ages 2, 5, and 7 when I started. After the youngest was off to kindergarten, I took a new position, a nanny share caring for two 2-year old girls. I’ve also babysat for multiple families over the years ranging from overnights with infant twins to school vacation help for 12-year olds. I taught the preschool class at my church for 5 years as well. In October 2012, I had a daughter of my own! I began bringing her along to babysitting/ nanny positions, which worked out quite well. In 2019, after working as a nanny/ babysitter for 12 years, I transitioned to teaching. I worked as an assistant in a combined Pre-K/Kindergarten class for four years before becoming the lead teacher of a separate Pre-K class.
