We had Ayling come watch our two boys (1 and 7). She brought over an activity bag and was fun and engaging. Her communication with us was excellent the whole time and we had a wonderful evening out without having to worry. Would highly recommend!

Why do you love being a sitter? I truly love being a sitter because I enjoy creating a safe, loving, and nurturing environment where children can learn, grow, and feel supported. Being part of their daily development, helping them build confidence, and creating meaningful connections with families is incredibly rewarding to me. I love bringing patience, creativity, structure, and warmth into every child’s routine. What experience do you have? I have experience caring for infants, toddlers, and school-age children through nanny positions, babysitting, and childcare programs. I currently work with families in the Arlington and Washington DC area, helping with daily routines, feeding schedules, naps, educational activities, bedtime routines, and emotional development. I also support families with light housekeeping, meal preparation, organization, and creating structured routines for children. What skills and training do you have? I am currently completing my CDA (Child Development Associate) certification and have training in child development, safety, healthy routines, and age-appropriate activities. I am experienced with infant care, sleep routines, potty training support, Montessori-inspired activities, positive guidance, and developmental play. I am also part of the temporary division of White House Nannies, which has strengthened my professional childcare experience and family support skills.

Our wonderful Wendy worked with our family as a part time nanny, but in truth she became so much more than that. She was a vital part of our daily lives. She was truly exceptional in every way, going above and beyond in everything she did. Her main responsibility was picking up our children from school and getting them to their activities, and we always had COMPLETE peace of mind knowing they were with her. She is an incredibly responsible and attentive driver, but more importantly, she always made our children’s safety and comfort her top priority. Beyond being remarkably reliable and organized, what makes Wendy truly special is the warmth and light she brings into a home. She had a natural gift for connecting with our children, balancing a fun with the structure and consistency they needed and was always interested in keeping us on the loop with new ways on how to improve our routines. We are deeply grateful for the care and heart she put into her time with us. We would love to have her back at any point in the future, in fact, she is the very first person we would call if our family grows or if our needs change. We recommend our dear Wendy with all our heart, any family would be INCREDIBLY lucky to have her ❤️

Bonjour! I’m a proud St. Lucian with a big heart and a passion for babysitting that blossomed when I was just 11 years old. Growing up, I helped raise my three younger siblings, who were born more than a decade after me. Those early experiences taught me patience, empathy, and how to guide little ones through every stage. From first steps to singing/sporty personalities. Watching them grow into their own identities lit a fire in me to support other children in the same way. Over the years, I’ve continued to babysit younger cousins and family friends, giving me hands-on experience with kids of various ages whenever I have time with my technical wiritng positon. I naturally gravitate toward creating a nurturing, positive environment where children feel safe, heard, and empowered. I'm especially proud of teaching manners in fun, memorable ways, and I bring calm energy and warm encouragement to every interaction. Whether we’re playing games, learning something new, or just having silly moments, I’m there with love, laughter, and genuine care.

My name is Carla Kooij and I currently babysit for date-nights or on the weekends. I've been babysitting since 2010. I have a Bachelor of Arts degree from Goucher College, and am certified in First Aid and CPR for infants, children and adults. I enjoy caring for children of all ages, and I have babysat for many families, military and non-military, and/or families who come to town for a wedding or event, and I've stayed at the hotel with their children while they are at the event. I prepare meals for children, do light housekeeping, help with homework, read children stories, supervise bedtime routines, help with bathroom activities (toilet, brushing teeth, bathing). I love playing games with children too, inside or out. I have babysat up to four children at a time from 2 months to 17 years old although now I prefer one to two children to watch. I’m a U.S. citizen and live in Alexandria, VA. I'm trustworthy, dependable, friendly and kind.

Carla was so sweet and nice! She was on time and even brought her puppet collection for our son to play with; which he just loved. She sent us pictures of him while we were out and was just a delight to have as our sitter. We would definitely recommend Carla for any of your sitter needs!

I am a 33 year old Early Childhood Major, who graduated from Georg Mason University with both my bachelors and masters in Education, and have a license to teach Pre-Kindergarten through Third Grade. I have received my Career Studies Certificate and my Infant and Toddler Certificate as well back in my days at NVCC. Back during my summers in high school I volunteered at the Thurgood Marshall Child Development Center in DC. I did over 500 hours there working in the toddler room, and occaisionally the Pre-K room. For a brief period during my college studies I also worked at the Cody Child Development Center on Fort Myer in the infant, toddler, and pre-k rooms. I have also consistently had my training in CPR/First Aid. I have babysat in many home settings now and would love to work with a new family! I live near Fair Oaks and would prefer to work for a family in the area if possible but if not that’s ok too! I do have a car so driving is not an issue.

Hi, I’m Amanda! I’m a former special education teacher with over six years of classroom experience, and caring for children has always been more than a job for me, it’s something I truly love. Today, I focus on providing thoughtful, one‑on‑one support as a babysitter and tutor, helping children feel safe, confident, and supported while they learn and grow. When babysitting, I prioritize creating a calm, nurturing environment where children feel comfortable being themselves. I enjoy building meaningful connections through play, conversation, and routine whether that means reading books before bedtime, playing board games, doing arts and crafts, or helping kids wind down after a busy day. I’m attentive to routines like meals, homework time, and bedtime, and I approach transitions with patience and care, especially for children who benefit from extra structure or reassurance. As a tutor, I support children with homework, skill-building, and learning routines in ways that feel encouraging rather than stressful. I break tasks into manageable steps, use visuals or hands‑on activities when helpful, and celebrate effort and progress along the way. For example, I might turn math practice into a game, help a child organize their assignments with a simple checklist, or use drawing and writing prompts to strengthen reading and writing skills while keeping things engaging. I’ve worked with children of all ages and abilities, and my background in special education helps me tailor my approach to each child’s learning style, energy level, and needs. Families often tell me they appreciate my kindness, consistency, and clear communication, as well as the balance I strike between structure and fun. My goal is always to create a safe, positive, and playful space where children feel supported, capable, and cared for and where parents feel confident knowing their child is in loving, reliable hands. If you’re looking for a babysitter and tutor who will treat your child with genuine care and make the day a little brighter, I would love to connect.

I am a mother of two teenage boys, so have been parenting for about 15 years. Prior to becoming a mother, I was a nanny for many years while in college and graduate school and a babysitter while in middle and high school. I have CPR and 1St Aid Certifications and am highly experienced with dealing with any issues that may arise while caring for infants, young children, tweens and teens. I love supporting kids to play and learn from experiences (games, crafts, sports) but am also ready to support homework and school assignments. I am comfortable with all kinds of pets and happy to feed them or take them for walks. I take family rules seriously and will work with the children to make sure that tasks and chores are completed when required.

My kids loved Jennifer and ask for her to come back often! She not only was wonderful with the children, playing games througout the day, taking them on field trips and reading them stories. She also organized the kids bedroom without being asked! If I could give 10 stars I would!

Hello! I am a student at Northern Virginia Community College pursuing a nursing track. My hopes are to later become a nurse midwife. Before Covid-19, I was a preschool teacher but I am currently looking to provide more individualized work. My experience ranges from daycare, gym child watch, individual babysitting, and summer camps. With that being said, I'm able to provide many references! I am infant/child first-aid and CPR certified. In addition, I am a birth and postpartum Doula who can help with overnights . I'd love to be able to work with families looking for a last-minute baby sitter or a date-night sitter. I'm also available to do school pick-ups and drop-offs! ! I love planning activities with the kids such as cookie decorating, movie nights, sensory play etc. I'm flexible with rates and take into consideration the needs of each family. My goal is to insure that children actually have fun while the parents are away. I look forward to working with children of all ages and backgrounds!
