A little about me… I have worked with children since I was 15 years old. I started out assisting in a day care center, and then when I graduated from High School, I began teaching preschool while attending college. I have worked with infants up to school age children. I taught 1st grade for 6 years, and have also taught 4th grade. I have four children- ages 10,8,4, & 3! I am very familiar with the Calvert, Anne Arundel and Prince George's areas. I grew up in Dunkirk, MD, which is in Calvert County. While attending the University of Maryland, I lived in Annapolis, MD and and relocated back to Calvert County after graduating. I like to do pretty much anything that involves the outdoors. We are involved in many different community events. They enjoy the library and the programs offered there. We're lucky to have a few local community center who plan amazing activities for the kids. Overall though, just having fun and making memories :) One of my newest hobbies is gardening. I love getting together and spending time with my family and friends.   I completed my Master's degree in Elementary Education from the University of Maryland. My degree also gives me the opportunity to become a Reading Specialist, which I plan to pursue in the near future. I'm currently looking for a family to work with on occasion or reoccurring weekday (few days a week/flexible on days), weekends, and/or date nights. I have been a caregiver for over 20 years now. I started babysitting when I was 13, then began working as a nanny when I was 20. Recently, I was the lead teacher in the toddler room of a daycare and also have experience teaching with Montessori methods. The majority of my experience is with infants through elementary school, however, I have provided care for children up to high school age. I do offer homework help and some tutoring. I also know basic sign language for infants. I have experience working with special needs such as autism and ADHD. I enjoy keeping children active and engaged. I believe spending some time outdoors and away from electronics is important. I also enjoy doing arts and crafts and letting kids really express their creativity.

I have ways loved being around kids, even from a young age . At every family function, everyone always knew if you wanted a break from your child I’ll happily take them for a little while. As for skills and training, I’ve acquired my CPR license in the 11th grade, along with my BLS card the following year. And I’ve also completed a 200 hour EMT course. And I currently volunteer as an EMT. I would love nothing more than to have fun with kids while helping them grow to be an amazing person.

I am a substitute teacher at my daughters old elementary school .I work with over 600 kids and love every minute of it. I am the oldest out of five siblings and have been babysitting since my first sibling. I have worked with several families over the years from newborns to teens and still stay in contact with them. Seeing the the children growing up over the years have been a joy for me.
