During the Covid period when the children I've watched had to do online school I was responsible for their daily activities and homework making sure that they completed their work for the day and prepared for tests and projects, as well as checking in for attendance, etc and relaying messages to the parents, and taking the children to outings and events they couldnt go to themselves because of work expectations. To me it's not just about showing up but spending time with the children, doing fun activities, laughing, learning, enjoying the day and just being there for them. We have done everything from crafts to science experiments, going to the park, following a recipe and making fun food together, to visiting local nature exhibits and preserves, playing mini golf and so much more... All in all, I have really been blessed to have the chance to hopefully enrich children's lives and in the end I've gained more than words can express.
