I am graduating with my bachelors degree in May of 2026 with my Early Childhood Education Degree. I have grown up around kids my whole life as my mom did home daycare until I was 8 and then she opened a daycare center in our home town which I have worked out for the past 6 years. Through babysitting and working at my mom’s daycare I have over 10 years of experience working with children birth- grade 3. I was frequently referred to as the “town babysitter” as I come from a small town and babysat a majority of the kids there starting at the age of 10. Growing up my older sister was much older than me. She has 6 children whom I have grown up babysitting since I was 12 years old. When my sister would go on vacation I would stay over night, cook for them, get them on and off the bus, packed their lunches, and helped them with homework. My senior year of high school I was a teacher cadet for kindergarten and helped them with their homework and if they were struggling in class everyday for an hour. I coach a younger girls volleyball team so I am constantly working with children even being in college. These children I have had in my life have helped me decide on going into social work as a career so I can work with children and those ones in need. I have also worked for four years at our local coffee shop that my sister owns. I loved this job because I am such a people person and I talked everybody's ears off.

I love being a sitter because I am passionate about helping and connecting with all different types of kids! I have experience working with my younger cousins since 2020, but started seriously babysitting for them in 2022. They were 4 months, 3 years, and 5 years when I began babysitting for them. Now, I work for a home care company where I assist kids with autism (16 months, 4 years and 6 years) with daily tasks such as potty training, teaching homework, and redirecting behaviors. I am a dietetics major at CMU but enjoy helping kids and people with disabilities, which is something I will strive to do as a dietitian in the future.
