I'm looking for more experience with children as I want to specialize in pediatrics once I obtain my RN. I've worked with kids aged 1-14 for 6 months as a swim instructor as well as a few months at a local urgent care that saw children often. Another job I had was working as a direct support professional for a young adult with autism, providing meal preparation, laundry, transportation, and companionship. I've also worked in memory care units as well as assisted living for over a year now. This gives me experience in cares, both emotionally and ADL's. I've also worked with a young adult with autism. For my education I graduated high school spring of 2024, taking college courses during to start early in my nursing career. I too care of my elderly parents with health issues for past 23 years. I did volunteer work in the church. For 3 years I took care of children of all ages at church. Babies from 6 months to 1 year, and children from 2 to 10 years. With the babies, I helped take care of them by giving them bottles, changing their diapers and putting them to sleep. When they were awake, they played games to stimulate the baby's skills, such as painting, playing Legos or watching cartoons on TV. With the older children I did activities that also stimulate their development, such as drawing and painting, playful games, I gave them snacks and was always there to give them all the support they needed, and it was really cool, because at the same time I taught them, I also learned from them. to be patient and empathetic and to understand their needs.

My first family with an infant moved to the suburbs and then I was with my second family with their infant. That turned into a nanny share with their next door neighbors who also had an infant. Then one family moved and the other one had another baby. My contract ended in December and I’ve seen the family multiple times since we cultivated such a good relationship. I was CPR and First Aid certified in January 2022. I have babysat since I was 12 years old from watching kids for date nights, being a mother's helper, and even overnight stays. I have watched large groups of kids for volunteer experiences with other people and I also taught kids how to swim as small as toddlers.
