I'm a graduate of Appalachian State University where I received my Bachelors Degree in Music Education with focus in voice. I love teaching and am very active in the music community. Outside of teaching general music and chorus classes, I continue to perform as a soloist and apart of ensembles. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with family and friends, hiking, playing racketball and love water-sports. This is my 14th year teaching.

I absolutely adore connecting, caring for, and exploring with children! I am first aid and CPR certified. I have 4 years of experience with paid babysitting, as well as 15 years of experience watching kids of all ages (including infants) for family and friends. Last summer, I was a full time mountain bike lead camp counselor for 6-8 year olds, planning daily/weekly schedules and ensuring proper care in regard to heat index and food consumption. It was such a rewarding experience to watch the kids learn and grow confidence in their abilities while maintaining safety as a top priority! I have immense patience and meet children where they are. Professionally, I have assumed roles as an Assistant teacher in a Headstart program and a substitute teacher in elementary through high school classrooms. I started watching kids while I was 13, watching over my younger siblings and babysitting my neighbors' kids and my mom's friends' children. I began falling in love with children when I was always just playing with them and staying active. Babysitting kids really teaches you a lot that you thought you couldn't learn from a child and their so creative and energetic it always keeps you on your toes wanting to learn more. I began actually babysitting when I was 16, to try and help me earn some money on the side while doing what I love and now I do it to help pay for college.
