While watching for his son we did activities such as coloring, counting, going to the park going on walks, I even helped potty train him. They treated me like family. Hi! My name is Cortney and I have been in childcare for about 10 years. My most recent nanny position will be coming to an end soon, as they are moving away. I have been with them for about 3 months, and with my previous family for 5 years! Before nannying, I worked in various centers, specifically focusing on infant and toddler care. I have some credits in early childhood education, and I am willing to be re-certified in infant CPR/first aid/SIDS. I am also willing to go through background checks, and have no issues with cameras in reasonable locations. As a childcare provider, I am attentive to infants needs, and am able to keep them on a reasonable schedule. Typically, I will keep a daily baby diary with feedings, diapering, sleep, and activities noted. I like to keep open communication with the parents, as I believe the nanny positions are always smoother when the three of is are on the same page. I enjoy doing sensory activities, and am always finding age appropriate activities that encourage both development and fun. I have my own transportation, and a clean driving record. I enjoy being outside and taking walks, and I don't believe in utilizing screens very much. I prefer to use music and engage in play with the child(ren). I have been caring for children in some capacity my entire adult life and decided to make it my career about 10 years ago because I wanted to make my own happiness my goal in life. And being around the infectious joy of children seemed like the perfect place to do that. I’ve worked as a nanny and also in a daycare classroom but far prefer private childcare setting. Daycare classrooms make it so hard to meet the needs of the individual. I maintain CPR and first AID certifications as well as safe sleep, SIDS and prevention of maltreatment of children. I believe in a gentle disciple approach and that children can be given firm boundaries and consistent correction without ever having to be hit or using harsh discipline. We learn through play in the environment around us. And I believe in building confidence in kids through letting them explore their own mistakes in a safe space, helping them learn through them. Our mantra is “messes happen! No big deal!” While we clean up and try again. I also grew up here in Moore County and am choosing to raise my own son here as well. Hi there, my name is Kwamesha but everyone calls me Miss K. I am 20 years old but can shape shift to any-age child to gain a new friend. Many may describe me as very creativity and engaged to fun activity when it comes to children. I am a non-smoker and anti-drugs. I am very good child and have no criminal record, or any bad record at all. I've had 4 years of childcare experience working at a daycare/learning center with all ages from infant to 10 year old with all types of allergies and sickness. Also growing up, I was able to learn and pick up tips from my mother being a daycare owner which years later benefited from that with me being able to follow in her footsteps and be a role model for the younger generation. To this day I am still working with children as a substitute teacher for Moore County Schools mainly working with Primary and Elementary. My biggest challenge besides taking care of babies is babysitting an infant with autism along with another toddler.
