I became HRS (now Florida DCF) certified in high school many years ago in the OJT program and worked for three years as an assistant site director of the after school care program with Unique School Age Childcare and Noah's Ark nursery in the summer. I also volunteered each week with the ESE department children at West Pensacola Elementary in Florida. I am now employed full time in the Children and Family Services field in Buncombe County. I have worked in the children and family services field in North Carolina and Florida for the past 16 years. I have always enjoyed working with children and their families. :)

I’m a retired science teacher/outdoor educator with 30 years experience working with children. I retired in January and would like to continue to work/teach kids. Most recently, I was an Aquatic Educator for the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission and have been running an afterschool fishing club for kids in grades 3-8 and have been teaching families with children ages 5 & up how to fish. I have a BS in Biology and was Certified to teach Middle Grades and High School Science and I have a Master’s Degree in Education with the concentration in science. I taught in public schools and private schools and then started the education programs at the Pisgah Center for Wildlife Education for preK & up where I continued to work with outdoor education for kids until the flood in 2021. I have experience babysitting siblings, keeping them safe and engaged in activities, preparing snacks/meals, putting them down for nap/bed. I have done after school pick ups as well as driven kids to activities. I am good with pets. I have a dog and have kept one of my client’s dogs when they went out of town. I have had background checks and been fingerprinted in previous employment. I am 1st Aid and CPR certified. I have also raised my own child so I have experience with babies.
