I’ve worked with children for over a decade and have always found joy in caregiving and education. I’m a certified K–8 educator and currently nanny for a wonderful family in Massachusetts. My experience includes working with children as young as 3 months old, caring for up to six children at once, and supporting families with everything from school routines to household management. Throughout college, I nannied for the same family for five years, caring for two girls. After graduation, I moved to New York City for a live-in nanny role where I managed daily schedules, school and doctor appointments, travel, cooking, organization, pet care, and more. I am 49 years old and I have been nannying both part-time and full-time for over 28 years. I am college educated with a dual associates degree in both Meeting and Event Planning and Hotel Restaurant Management. I also have a Bachelor's degree in Management. Growing up in a large family and with a love for kids, I was the sitter for all the babies in the family. What I love most about sitting and being a nanny is being able to help all the hard working moms and dads who need the extra set of hands while keeping up with the busy lifestyle. Hey there 👋🏻 My name is Kara and I’d like to tell you a bit about myself. I have always enjoyed children my whole life. Ever since I was little I always wanted to be around the kids. Just seeing how happy and free they are made me happy. I have two younger siblings as well so I was always helping my single mom out with them. Once I got into high school I knew that working with children is what I really wanted to do in life. I moved to Massachusetts with my dad the summer before my senior year of high school, and found the perfect job for myself. I started working as an assistant teacher at the daycare right across the street! They were great about working with my school schedule and excepting me knowing I had no profession experience. I worked as an assistant toddler teacher. We had 19 two year olds between myself and three other teachers. I loved every day I worked here at Kindercare. I was very saddened when I moved back to New Hampshire a year and a half later and has to resign. I worked for a few family’s over the first couple of years I was back. I also care for my two nephews and niece on a regular basis. For the past 5 years I decided to switch my career over to in home health care, since I have always loved helping and caring for people and found myself a great opportunity.
