I have lots of hands-on experience with kiddos, from tiny infants to energetic 13-year-olds. I spent about five years working with the Autism Society of North Carolina and I also worked for a Behavioral Health company as a Behavioral Technician , supporting children with diverse needs through structure, creativity, patience, and lots of encouragement. I currently work in Childwatch at the YMCA, where I help create a safe, fun space so parents can enjoy a workout or a little well-deserved self-care. I’m also the oldest of four girls, so babysitting has been part of my life for as long as I can remember! From bedtime routines and snack time to imaginative play and calming big emotions, I’m comfortable jumping into all parts of a child’s world. I have decided to put my culinary career on hold as I haven't been able to find reliable childcare since the pandemic and cook life doesn't always coincide with parent life. I used to fill my time after high school watching my mother's friends children. I enjoyed it so much that I watched families from time to time while working night shifts after I graduated. While looking for the perfect chef job I found a nanny job and I loved that family so much I nannied for their family of 3 children full time for a year and then as needed for 4 years after. My son loves other kids but doesn't have much interaction with them. We are hoping to find some new friends and have some fun along the way.
