I am a 37 year-old early childhood teacher from Chile. While studying during college, I spent a summer babysitting for a family whose mother needed assistance watching a 2 year-old while caring for her newborn. I was responsible for clothing and feeding the child and enjoyed doing some activities with him. I worked in my home country following my studies as a rural public school teacher for a year and a half. My nine students ranged in age from 4 to 6. After that, I came to the United States under a work visa to work as a Spanish teacher in a private school in Massachusetts for one year and a half, developing activities for toddlers. After I finished my contract with the school, I worked as a babysitter for infants and toddlers. Until I moved to the United States (March 2024), I taught in a Catholic school. I worked there for 7 and a half years as a Pre-K and Kindergarten teacher. I managed a class size of 34 students with a co-teacher. I did remote teaching during the pandemic and am comfortable leading online classes. I love storytelling. I took online classes in storytelling and it is one of my student’s favorite activities. I really enjoy singing and I believe that it’s a great way to release stress and an amazing tool I have used in my teaching. I am fluent in English and Spanish.

I just moved here last year from Cleveland OH, I am going to be a junior in college but doing it remotely. I have very flexible hours and I am very good at communicating with parents. I’m a calm, nurturing graduate student, who has been sitting for years. I love sitting not only because of how good I am with children but for how children are the best group of people to be around. In my experience I have learnt that letting your inner child free and coming down to the level of the children mostly helps you connect better and easily earn their trust.
