My name is Cynthia. I am married and the mother of three boys, ages 6, 5, and 12 months. For the first four years of our boy's lives, I cared for our children in our home. Our day consisted of lots of outdoor play, trips to local parks and reserves, art and reading. Above all it was important to me to involve my children in the simplicity of the day. I was left with the desire to start this process again. My strong belief in the importance of children being at home from birth to age three overflowed into my newfound career. I have been honored to work for two incredible families in the last four years. I have watched their children grow and developed lifelong relationships with them. Healthy foods, minimal screen time, and outdoor play are some of the fundamentals that will drive our daily routine. I have a daily rate which includes gas for travel and cost of activities. I have annual memberships to Stan Hwyett Hall and Gardens, Akron Zoo, Hale Farm, The Museum of Natural History and Loyal Oak Lake. I am CPR trained and certified. I offer light cleaning, shopping, laundry, meal preparation, school/ activities transportation, and play dates. For your benefit and mine, I ask for a four week trial period. I am currently a Middle School Writing Teacher for 6th, 7th, and 8th graders. I graduated from Ashland University with a Bachelor’s in Middle Grades Education (ELA and Social Studies). I have been a Writing teacher for about 2 years. Before starting this position, I was a Substitute Teacher for about 2 1/2 years, with grades K-5. Growing up, my Grandma ran a daycare. Once I was a teenager, I frequently helped her run her day care. Taking care of infants all the way up to 5 years old. I have such a love and passion for working with children. However, I need to take a step away from the classroom setting for a while, and work in a different environment.

First off I want to say I love working with children. Working as a preschool teacher has been very rewarding and I have always considered it as a calling more than a job. Most of my experience working with children has been in a preschool or daycare facility. It has given me the opportunity to work with children from 6 weeks to 12 years old. I enjoy working with infants and children of all ages, development levels, and cultures, and especially have a heart for special needs children. I am certified in first aid and CPR, child/adult and infant . I also have completed several certification classes in child development. I am branching out as a nanny to be able to care for children in a setting where I can give that child more of my individualized time and attention.
