Hi! A bit about me. 2020 was a year of change for everyone. Me, I retired after 40 years in the acute care medical field and became an empty nester! I've always loved children and would have had a houseful of my own had I started at a younger age. I worked in Urgent Care and ER facilities for at least 12 of the last 20 years, medical assisting and performing Imaging studies. I am also certified in CPR. I had a BCI background check done 5 years ago in order to participate in Austintown Fitch Band Parent activities and a consumer background check in 2017 for a job. I will be happy to provide that documentation or have more current check performed if you want. While I don't have recent paid childcare experience, my years of hands-on care is vast. I babysat to put myself through highschool and college. Most importantly, I raised two sons to become kind, productive human beings. And as you well know parenthood is "Grand Prix" of childcare! My youngest moved out of home in October and I'm finding myself with too much time on my hands. When thinking of what I would love to do in this next chapter of my life, taking care of and playing with kids is at the top of my list. I've always been facinated by kid's minds and their thought processes. I love their innocence and in innate sense of wonder and fun. I'm excellent at entertaining and engaging children of all ages. I'm a SAHM of 3 residing in SW Warren, OH. Our children are currently 10 (boy), 7 (girl), and 4 (girl). We live where our kids are safe playing outside during most weather conditions and love investing our time in other families! We have a playset, trampoline, commercial swing set and lots of space to run outside and a great indoor space for play with books and toys for most ages. I am a homeschool parent and have helped several students with homework, school work, and tutoring in several subjects over many grade levels. I have associate degrees in Accounting and Business Administration. I also teach at our local homeschool co-op. I've been a foster mom for 6 years and have taken countless hours of training including CPR for infants to adults. I've dealt with normal and abnormal behavioral situations and try to seek a positive solution with a patient and calm demeaner. I've also worked directly with children services, supported bio parents, and partnered with social workers to advocate for the children in my care. We spend time at Grace Fellowship and North Mar Church. It’s very important to us to be in church on Sundays and Wednesday evenings. If you need care during these times, your child(ren) would be attending with us. Any activities we go to, your kids would be welcome to join us! We have a Cleveland Zoo membership, a membership to Holden Arboretum, and have access to OH WOW! These memberships include extra passes for your kids to come along with us for free! We also like to take advantage of free places like North Mar's indoor play place during the cold months, outdoor playgrounds (weather permitting), and events at our favorite local libraries.
