As a responsible & entrepreneurial young woman I began babysitting at the age of 11 & I was a gymnastics coach & camp counselor for 4 years during & after high school. In college at the U of MN I received my bachelor’s degree in Family Social Science & since then I have cared for many wonderful children from 2 weeks old to teenagers. As a hired care-giver, I understand the importance of keeping the children comfortable & safe, happy, well-fed, entertained & hopefully in bed on time. I love to take kids on walks nature hikes or even skiing, we get creative with art projects, I teach them yoga or perform for them with song & dance. I also know how good it feels to come home to a tidy house, so I always try to clean for parents & I genuinely enjoy doing dishes, folding laundry or anything else that really helps you out. I have worked with children of a variety of ages in the Portland, Oregon Metro. area for many years.  At times I have worked for private family residences as a Nanny, other times I have worked for local Day Schools as a Lead Teacher. Hi there! I'm Margie, I'm currently a studying Fish and Wildlife Conservation and Indigenous Studies at Oregon State University. I have over eight years of childcare experience and excited to have more! For six years I was a lead counselor for Luscher Farm camps, ages 5 to 12. We would play games in the garden, put on puppet shows, learn about wildlife, all while staying safe and healthy during the COVID-19 pandemic. I also enjoyed being a teacher for cooking classes where we'd cook yummy, kid-friendly meals with ingredients the kids harvested. Hi! I have been babysitting around the neighborhood since I was 13 and eventually became a nanny for a 7-year-old and a 1-year-old when I graduated high school. I was their nanny for 2 years. I then became the nanny to a 6 and 8-year-old for 1 year. After that I worked at an after school care program for a year. I currently have a remote office job but can be flexible with my hours. I've babysat for different families throughout the years while at my corporate job. Both my sister and best friend have 2 children under 4 and I spend as much time with them as possible.
