(2-3 days a week) Experience includes working as an English Assistant at a primary school in Spain, coaching gymnastics to children ages 3-12 at Oregon Gymnastics Academy, and over five years of private childcare for kids ages 4 months-11 years. I have a musical background and enjoy musical activities, crafts, reading, and being outside with children. I'm also comfortable with tutoring/schoolwork assistance, pets, cleaning, meal prep, and transportation. References are available. 17 years of safe, engaging, skill building fun facilitation; supplemented with homework help, tutoring, and academic support... While attending university, I began facilitating recreation therapy respite for families adjusted by developmental differences. I also continued with the YMCA, YWCA and local youth bureau; all while also living and serving with the local volunteer fire department. Upon graduation I accepted a couple roles as Program Director, but soon realized that front line work was my truest passion. Since my work as a Family Advocate, Wilderness Therapy Guide, Kids Ski Instructor, "Manny" (Nanny), Firefighter, Alpine Manager, Mountain Bike Coach, Lifeguard, and Summer Camp Director for multiple camps, I have gained and honed a diverse skill set. My experience provides families with a compassionate, professional, fun loving, supportive, flexible, and nurturing care giver. Whether you need a one time “babysitter” or a commitment over an extended period of time, I feel confident that I can provide the stimulating and/or structured environment, balanced and tailored for your little people to thrive. Philosophically, I believe in and promote autonomy and democracy; encouraging choice, individuality, compromise, and teamwork. Ex: I do not believe in asking one to apologize, but rather explaining to them the relational benefits of such actions, and providing them the opportunity. Currently, I spend a lot of time in the mountains, tackling personal objectives; so though my location may be elsewhere, I may be looking to work in an area close to your childcare needs.

I have worked with children of a variety of ages in the Portland, Oregon Metro. area for many years.  At times I have worked for private family residences as a Nanny, other times I have worked for local Day Schools as a Lead Teacher. Most recently, my work has been as a Nanny. I have worked with infants and young toddlers age range from 0-3 years. Additionally, I hold certification in "Advance Child Care Training", and Infant/Child CPR and First-Aid certification. I am a non-smoker, and reliable. I have a AAS Degree in Business, additionally I have completed several Child Development courses through “Portland Community College-Sylvania Campus”, and various online sources. I’m from the East Coast and moved to Portland two years ago and live outside Ladds Edition. I’m an experienced nanny and went to school at Western Kentucky University for special education. I started sitting over 20 years ago for children and pets. My experience with children ranges from daycare settings to occasional date nights to full time nanny work. My specialty is with infants and toddlers but I enjoy helping out with the older kiddos too. *Happy to help with homework, dishes, cooking, and laundry. I use sign language and can count up to ten in three languages. Familiar with all diapers, bottles, Disney characters, Transformers and MOST Superheros. I always have stickers and usually have bubbles. Prefer to be outside exploring rather than inside but balance is good too. Originally from the Midwest and have been loving Portland for 10 years. Before moving here, I worked as a Certified Medical Assistant and helped take care of a few elderly patients on the side. I come from a family of 10 of us.(19080s) I am on the younger end . At 7 years old I started baby sitting my infant niece and from their on out a new nephew or niece was born each year. Sometimes multiples… Now I’m in my 40s blessed with 2 littles of my own. Looking for work while having my children as well. I have 2 seats available in my vehicle if needed to run children around. My children are 2 and 6 year old girls .. we love to stay active. We go to many parks . We play softball. 6 year old is already hitting without the tee. She also plays in LO soccer club and goes to mountain park church for 1st grade. I can only watch 2 children at a time being that only 2 will fit in my vehicle in the event of an emergency.
