Hi! I’m Megan and I love working with kids! I’ve worked as a camp counselor/teacher with Adventures in Writing for four years, a Lead Teacher with the YMCA for two, and a lead teacher for Innovation Learning for two years. I moved from Ashland, where I was a toddler teacher for two years. After moving from Ashland I became a Lead a Toddler Teacher at an in home daycare for over a year before getting the opportunity to become a Toddler Guide at a Montessori School. I love doing crafts with kids and helping them figure out what they love to do! I am CPR/First Aid certified and can help with potty training!

While attending university, I began facilitating recreation therapy respite for families adjusted by developmental differences. I also continued with the YMCA, YWCA and local youth bureau; all while also living and serving with the local volunteer fire department. Upon graduation I accepted a couple roles as Program Director, but soon realized that front line work was my truest passion. Since my work as a Family Advocate, Wilderness Therapy Guide, Kids Ski Instructor, "Manny" (Nanny), Firefighter, Alpine Manager, Mountain Bike Coach, Lifeguard, and Summer Camp Director for multiple camps, I have gained and honed a diverse skill set. My experience provides families with a compassionate, professional, fun loving, supportive, flexible, and nurturing care giver. Whether you need a one time “babysitter” or a commitment over an extended period of time, I feel confident that I can provide the stimulating and/or structured environment, balanced and tailored for your little people to thrive. Philosophically, I believe in and promote autonomy and democracy; encouraging choice, individuality, compromise, and teamwork. Ex: I do not believe in asking one to apologize, but rather explaining to them the relational benefits of such actions, and providing them the opportunity. Currently, I spend a lot of time in the mountains, tackling personal objectives; so though my location may be elsewhere, I may be looking to work in an area close to your childcare needs.

I have babysat for many friends and families over the past 7 years, before and after school, on weekends and consistently throughout the summer. I also worked in a daycare, part-time during high-school, interacting and taking care of children starting as young as 2 months old. I love going on adventures, playing sports, being outside, trying new & creative things, baking/ cooking as well as working together and using an imagination to have fun! I have enjoyed getting to know all of the families that I have been lucky enough to care for and I'm excited to get to meet new people and any animals/pets are a bonus! :) I am currently going to school in Portland for nursing, but looking for some occasional sitting within the area to fit in my schedule!

(2-3 days a week) Experience includes working as an English Assistant at a primary school in Spain, coaching gymnastics to children ages 3-12 at Oregon Gymnastics Academy, and over five years of private childcare for kids ages 4 months-11 years. I have a musical background and enjoy musical activities, crafts, reading, and being outside with children. I have been in this field of work as a child care provider for 20 years. I am currently working as a teacher assistant. I also have experience in babysitting, as I am currently babysitting for parents. As for my training, I did go to college to get my certificate to work in a classroom. I also have a current CPR and FIRST AID card.

I have been a nanny/babysitter for as long as I can remember! I absolutely love kids and teaching them fun new things and sports! Other then nannying I have coached volleyball for the past 8 years anywhere from 6th grade to High School Varsity. I have my bachelors degree in Psychology with a specialization in child development and after that plans of getting a Master in mental health counseling for school aged kids! I have extensive infant/toddler/kid experience as it has been my job for the past few years! I have done things from “shorter" jobs such as date nights and giving rides to places, all the way up to overnights where I spent the entire week with three boys while their parents were out of the country. My past experiences make me very versatile so I am open to anything that you might need help with from young kiddos needing bottle feeding, sleep training, food transitioning, potty training, etc. And for older kids I’m happy to give homework help, create and implement structured days, prepare meals, and clean up. A couple random things I honestly love are running errands/grocery shopping and doing laundry. I understand life is unpredictable so I’m happy to provide sick care! The most kids I've watched at once not including playdates was 4 at a time and it was a blast. I would say that I am a very flexible and understanding person and am always happy to to grow and change with your family’s needs. I think it's very important to build a good relationship with the kid(s) and parent(s) so it's a nice experience for everyone. I love getting outside and playing and even going on day trips to explore! I am fully vaccinated and have my own car (with 7 seats) including two toddler car seats and a clean driving record! I have spent 10+ years working with families as their sitter/nanny, in overnight camps, in day camps, and with after school programs. Working with kids and giving the next generation a sturdy, supportive foundation is one of my passions and greatest joys. Families looking for a nanny or sitter who have LGBTQIA+ or neurodivergent members will have priority with me because I have lived experience in these areas and can empathetically relate. I know it can be hard for these families to find child care providers, and all kids deserve excellent caretakers. I’m from the East Coast and moved to Portland two years ago and live outside Ladds Edition. I’m an experienced nanny and went to school at Western Kentucky University for special education. I am also an experienced petsitter and was a veterinary technician for five years I absolutely love spending time with kids and watching them grow. I refuse to lose my child like wonder. I got to be a nanny for two adorable girls, Every time I see them , they say I’m the best baby sister they ever had . I just really enjoy infants, babies, toddlers , preschoolers , Elementary schoolers, time with them I drop everything giving them loving , attentive care, making it a memorable experience for them.
