I have been babysitting for as long as I can remember! I used to babysit when I was in high school for a little boy down the road from my house. I would walk down and get him off the bus and watch him until his dad came home. Before then, id always want to go over and help with my little cousins, whom I occasionally watch now. I orginally wanted to go to school for a teacher, but long story short, I didn't due to job demands. Now I work for a pharmaceutical company and do medical billing and babysit/dog sit on the side. I currently have multiple families whom I sit for when needed. They all have kids ranging from 1 year old to 12 years old. I also worked at a daycare for a year when I graduated high school with kids of all ages. I'm willing to watch your children whenever needed around my work schedule. I work Monday-Friday 7-3:30. I can do evenings, weekends, overnights, extended stays. I'm comfortable with pets. I'm able to cook, clean, help with homework. I'm pretty easy going. Whatever you need, I can pretty much do. I have been married to Joe for the past 22 years. He is a coach at Fox Chapel High School. We live in Oakmont with our 3 childern. Claire is 21 years old and is a junior at Duquesne University. Joey is 18 years old and a senior at Central Catholic. Davey is 15 and in a sophomore at Central catholic High School. I love babies, toddlers, kids and teens. I have dedicated my life to helping children learn and grow to their fullest potential. There is not one part of a child's life that is more important than another: creating positive social experiences, supporting emotional development, providing age appropriate cognitive challenges, encouraging creativity, and reinforcing self-help skills. That all sounds very formal but all it really means is I encourage (and will join in) all types of play! I take my cues from what your child likes to do. I listen to parents also and work to ensure the child has the consistency he/she needs. My experience in childcare comes from raising my two now grown children (one with special needs), working as a special education paraprofessional for 12 years, and 4 years of childcare in a daycare setting and in private homes. I have a bachelors degree from Penn State and completed some early and elementary education courses. As a paraprofessional I led small group instruction and adapted and implemented lesson plans. I teach Sunday School and provide childcare during church activities. I have current required clearances. In my spare time I enjoy hiking, biking, music, crafts, movies, and some gardening.
