Hi, my name is Courtney Thomas, I am a 26 year-old experienced caregiver who loves working with infants and toddlers! I started working in Childcare at the age of 14. I volunteered at a daycare called The Little School at Duke in NC, with children ages 8 months to a year old. I later on became babysitter certified with first aid and began babysitting for various NC families for pay. After working for my first family, I became CPR AED certified for infants through adults, and later on got my BLS. My other experiences come from working in summer camps, my church nursery, previous nanny jobs, and as a preschool teacher assistant. I've also worked as a sensory motor coach for Brain Balance Achievement Centers with children ages 4-16 years old, along with newborn- elderly as a Neurodiagnostic Technologist for 3.5 years. I have always enjoyed working with young children and I have a special love for infants and toddlers. I am currently available for occasional/date night sitting, along with backup if your primary caregiver is sick or unavailable. I am a CSU student. I graduated from Summerville HS in 2015, and during my free time I spent countless hours volunteering at Old Fort Baptist church in the children's outreach program. I worked at Christway Worship Center's children summer camp. I also babysit my 'kid' brother after school and on weekends and have been doing it for over 7 years. I am no stranger to sick babies/children. I'm not clueless on how to change a diaper or even teaching a child how to use the toilet, and properly wash their hands. I've done it all. I do cook, and will cook if wanted/needed. I also help with homework and any school activities that children have. I would just like to add that I am great with all children that I take care of, and the children that I have taken care of find me to be an enjoyment. Every child is beyond important, and should be treated as such, and that is what I live by.

I’ve loved kids for as long as I can remember! I regularly babysit my 1-year-old nephew and have also been paid to help out at my aunt’s daycare, caring for children from infants to age 6. I was a foster parent for 7 years. I am CPR and first aid certified. Hands on play time and attention is how I work with kiddos. Age appropriate arts and crafts, reading books, and singing/dancing are my favorite activities with kiddos. Infants, toddlers and young children are my specialty. I believe in healthy meals, hands on playtime, being present with the kiddos and setting reasonable boundaries so they can build confidence. Routine is important for all children to succeed. I love to make play a learning experience. Learning outside through exploring, inside helping with food prep (kids will eat more if they are involved with helping), arts and crafts, reading books or games. I love watching their minds learn, grow and build confidence. I have worked with medical fragile infants who have excelled within my care. I also work from home during the week so I have flexibility to accommodate at my house if needed last minute. I am still set up for fostering children, I just do not have my home open for them. My house has been fire inspected and passed.

I love working with kids because I get to see how a little human has so much personality, intelligence and capability of doing great things. I was an au pair for two years and took care of a kid with autism, from the age of 4 until he was 6 years old, who is now my long distance brother. We created a very special bond and miss him every single day. Before that, I worked with a new born, and older kids I’m very patient, loving and comprehensive with kids, and pets.

I have my BLS cpr certification, as well as my Heartsaver certification, along with first aid and AED certifications. I love working with kids and being able to interact with them!
