I am currently background checked in Johnson city schools and Unicoi school district where I have been a preK, kindergarten and 1st grade teacher. I am CPR and first aid certified and have done a SIDS training. I have also been a lifeguard and swimming lesson instructor for the past 8 years. Hey there! I’m currently employed at Southside Elementary School as an Afterschool Caretaker for children ages 4 all the way to 11. From the time my little sister was an infant up until she was 5 years old I spent everyday with her through all the ups and down. Last year I was a swim instructor teaching children ages 3-11, up until January 2023 when I moved to Johnson City. I have grown to be very patient and adore kids. I am currently certified in CPR, AED, First Aid, and Basic Swim Instruction. Aside from my little sister, I have baby sat with children ages 4 and 6, and 1. I am currently in school majoring in Early Childhood Education, although I am considering taking a year off for financial reasons.

Hello! My name is Lacy, and one of my favorite things is getting to spend time with kids of all ages! I believe each child is different with unique gifts and learning styles, and it is such a joy for me to get to know and care for them in a way that brings out the playful and genuine child in them and me! I just graduated from college (over half of the people at my graduation party were under the age of 12 because I invited all of the families I babysat for through school...) and am about to start medical school in the fall. I am responsible, flexible, and engaging; I prefer not to have screens while I am with kids (unless part of a bedtime routine or a planned movie night, etc) because I would rather them get real-life interaction while I am there. There is so much to do and play and learn, and it is fun for me to get to be a part of a child experiencing the world in a creative and playful way. I have also had experience babysitting children with diabetes and epilepsy and am comfortable working with parents to make sure all of their children's particular needs are met whether they require special medical consideration or any other kind of concern that might warrant a different approach to care.
