My wife and I were houseparents at Tennessee Baptist Children's Home in Brentwood, Tennessee from 01/01/1992 - 04/15/1996 where we cared for up to 8 children (male & female) plus our 2 kids. From there we went to Youthtown in PInson, Tennessee where we covered the girl cottage from 04/15/1996 - 07/01/1996. I have been babysitting since my sister was born when I was 9 years old. I have been primary babysitter in my family for over 40 years and one of the few people my niece (by marriage) trusted to watch her 3 daughters who are now 19, 20, & 23. The 23 year old (my great-niece) has a 3 year old son (named after me) and a 6 week old son that I babysit pretty often; I am the only person that has kept the 6 week old, starting when he was 3 weeks old. Another niece had 4 stepdaughters (sisters) ages 7 - 16 that I kept several times (including overnight. I have a lot of references and have recently signed up to work with "Birth Choice" at no pay...awaiting background and reference checks.

I am very good with different age groups. I use to work in my hometown elementary as a teacher aid when i was in school, i have baby sat for a lot of family friends. I am kinda shy at first but i get out of that very quickly. I like to say that i am a kid whisper lol, mostly because i believe that i find a way that works with all kids no matter what we do, not every child is the same and its nice to find out what helps them even if its a challenge! I am into crafts and photography. I have two dogs and a cat. I love going to the park with my dogs! My favorite color is dark green. And just a little note i will be moving before Christmas to AK!!
