I am currently background checked in Johnson city schools and Unicoi school district where I have been a preK, kindergarten and 1st grade teacher. I am CPR and first aid certified and have done a SIDS training. I have also been a lifeguard and swimming lesson instructor for the past 8 years. Hello! My name is Nicole and I am 32 years old. I currently work as a Lead Teacher in an Infant classroom for Early Head Start. I previously worked as a Lead Preschool Teacher / Assistant Director for a childcare center. I was also previously a Teacher’s Assistant for a Head Start program, which is a Preschool so I worked exclusively with ages 3-5. I have worked consistently with children for the past 5 years but do have varied (on/off) experience working with children for many years. With that being said, I have experience from birth up to school-aged children. My job duties as a Lead Teacher consist of supervising and interacting with our classroom of 8 children, developing and using developmentally-appropriate practices, making lesson plans, and much more! With Head Start, our behavioral plan is Conscious Discipline so I focus heavily on this principle and very much so believe in their principles. On a personal level, I also like using time out (for those children it works for), alone time (for those children it works for), redirection, positive reinforcement, and generally having as much fun as we can! I have two degrees in Business, a Bachelors in Human Resources and a Masters in Marketing. I decided to switch my career path to teaching, though. I graduated with my Master of Arts in Early Childhood Education and have been working with Head Start since 2015. I love working with kids and enjoy their positivity and imaginations! I am looking to be an occasional, regular, or one time sitter. I work Monday through Friday until 4:30 PM and am available any time outside of those hours. Hey there! I’m currently employed at Southside Elementary School as an Afterschool Caretaker for children ages 4 all the way to 11. At work I’m responsible for the safety and fun for 30+ children where I have gained 2 years of very valuable experience. When I’m working I’m an active participant in games, crafts, homework, spelling words, and much more. What sets me apart from others are the background checks I’ve gotten through the state of Tennessee as well as the required CPR certifications, health, and safety trainings I have earned from my time at Southside.
