Hello my name is Marla. I’m raised in Lakewood Washington, where I finished my associate degree in nursing. Transferring to a 4 year university to attend the (RN) register nursing program. I got my interest in nursing at a very young age because I use to be in and out of hospital. Which grew a love in my heart for helping people. I like watching movies, reading and anything outdoors. On my free time I volunteer at Mary Bridge Children's Hospital, I work with kids ranging from a few months old to 17 years of age. I’m experiences with child care for over 7 years. I also have my CPR Certification and Nursing Assistant Certification. I'm really passionate about being apart of the medical field, specially because I want to work with children, and growing up I have always cared for my two younger siblings, while my mom and dad worked. I love helping out in any way i can and seeing the kids i’ve taken care grow up and be who they are at the end of everything is an amazing feeling. I am an excellent caregiver because I adore children and getting to be a reason behind a simple smile or laugh. Every child deserves the time to actually be a kid. Also, as far as experience I have been around children/teens with ADD, ADHD, and Autism. I have experience with people who have down syndrome since I have family who have it as well. I have also been a daycare teacher for over a year at a Church & have loved & taught every kiddo that came through my door. However currently I am a Behavioral Technician aka a 1:1, which is where i’m directly responsible for one special needs child within a classroom setting. Being that young back then, making $10 an hour was like hitting the lottery and all I had to do was play with kids. Also lenient on times and pricing because I understand sometimes are hard times and working more to provide doesn’t help when you have to pay more to get care you need. Always open to treat compensation for overtime lol I also live to bake and cook so if those are wants or needs suggestions are always welcome! I also just got out of the military as a military police so my background is spotless! I do have an infant he is about 6 months old that would be with me but I’ve never had an issue caring for multiple children and love being engaged in play and activities to keep there little brains working and hear there adorable laughs so rest assured your child would not be treated any lesser than how I take care of my own:)

I love being a sitter because working with kids is something I genuinely enjoy and have a real passion for. I enjoy creating a fun, safe, and supportive environment for them and being a positive presence in their lives, especially knowing how important it is to have the right people around during key developmental stages. I have been working with children for several years, starting with babysitting in high school where I cared for multiple families, including one for four years. I also worked as a Girl Scout camp counselor, led activities for elementary-aged kids, and later worked at a daycare during college breaks with children ranging from 6 months to 8 years old, primarily early preschoolers. Most recently, I’ve started substitute teaching in elementary schools, helping manage classrooms and support students throughout the day.
