Hey!- I’m Danielle aka Danii. Also known as ‘auntie’ to more than just my nieces and nephews! From the time my nieces were born when i was 15, some high school friends becoming teen moms, the families i have had the opportunity to be hired by, acquaintances and referrals, are all reason to say that my true life’s purpose is to make a difference in each child’s life that i have been blessed to be a part of!! Becoming a mother was always something i hoped for since i was a kid, and i was given that chance with a beautiful daughter, BellaMai Joy, who has been nothing less than a blessing! She was my 3rd pregnancy- first and only baby -my miracle baby. My nephew was born 8 months earlier, but shortly after he was hospitalized which resulted in him losing his hearing. He is deaf, but was given the ability to hear with cochlear implants. I do know some signing, which was a must for me and my daughter if ever in a situation where we had to communicate to my nephew without his cochlears on. So with that, and my daughter being slightly autistic, i have grown to be very patient and supportive to any child who struggles with a disability or special needs. Or maybe just needs ‘a little more time’ to accomplish something. I like to consider myself someone who is able to connect with any child, no matter the age, and be understanding that each will have their own unique way of expressing themselves. I’ve lasted through many meltdowns and tantrums, but also cherished many moments of fun and laughter. at the end of any day, the fact remains the same: children(mine or others) will always be the best part of any day. I became an auntie 20 years ago, to my identical twin nieces, who are the ones that started my passion to care for children and make sure they are loved, happy, and healthy. In my years of experience with children, i have dealt with kids in all age groups, and from every walk of life. Kids that require me to be very hands on, and ones that are very self sufficient and give me the same ‘no i got it’ line when i try to help. I’ve learned to respect each child’s boundaries and to support them in everything they do based on their own personal needs. Structured play and learning activities are key to a successful day for me. As well as balanced meals and snacks. Definitely not one to forget about the rest they need to remain healthy and happy 😊.
