Hello! My name is Roxanne. I am a seasoned nanny/caregiver with over 20 years of experience. I have also worked with children/adults with disabilities for most of this time as I was a respite caregiver with California Respite Care and the San Bernardino Regional Center. I have extensive experience supervising infants to teens, and multiple children. I moved to Utah from California a year and a half ago and absolutely LOVE it here. I had to say goodbye to the family I worked with for the last 6 years (2 awesome little monkeys I adore). Mama Bear is a doctor, so I worked her atypical schedule (every other week from 2-8, some holidays, some over-nighters, etc.). My "duties" included light housekeeping, meal/snack prep, school drop off/pick up, karate lessons, gymnastic practices, dentist appointments, having LOTS of fun, and loving on the kiddos as if they were my own family. I have been told I am a big kid at heart so its easy for me to "GET DOWN IN IT" with them. In my spare time I enjoy crafting, reading, watching movies, being out in nature, and spending time with my family. I have been married to my hubby/best friend for 26 years. I always wanted a tribe of kids, but it just wasn't in our cards. My good Lord has blessed us with lots of nieces/nephews and 5 wonderful godchildren we have had the privilege of helping to raise. I have a reliable vehicle (SUV to keep your precious cargo as safe as possible) with excellent insurance coverage. As you can see, I have done the extensive background checks to help assure you I am a safe place for your family. I have taken care of children for as long as I can remember. As a teenager, I worked in a daycare center for 2 and 3 year old children for two years after school. During those two years I would leave after my lunch break from high school and go work as an aide for a kindergarten class my Junior year. Then as an aide in a second grade classroom my Senior year. I also watched children from my church as well as babysat for family and friends children. I went to college and got my associates degree. I planned on being an elementary school teacher then, but I got married and had a child. I decided to watch children in my home and then in a different daycare with the 3 year olds first and then in the baby room until my son started Kindergarten. I substituted for two years in his elementary school until we moved. During this entire time I would continue to babysit family and friends children. I changed careers for a while due to financial reasons. About ten years after that I really wanted to go back to working with children. I started part time for an after school program until I was promoted to front office secretary of the elementary school. I worked there for several years. I helped in the lunchroom and when teachers would need my help. I then left to teach 3-4 year olds in my church day school. I love children of all ages, and honestly they love me too. I moved to Utah from Texas about one year ago. Now I am wanting to babysit date nights and other times when I am needed. I really feel that when you have to be away from your children, that a mom is the best substitute for you.
