Hi! My name is Emma and I live in Waterbury. I have been babysitting since I was about 13 years old. I have lots of experience with infants and toddlers, along with CPR training. I love to go on adventures with the kiddos and I have a car for transportation. I am very flexible schedule wise and am looking for a full time nanny job!

Currently, I work full time at Champlain Valley Union HS as a science program assistant. While my day job is focused on 14-16 year olds, I have 16 years of experience working with children and infants. My first job at the age of 14 was lifeguarding at a public pool in my hometown, where I then moved on to working in a child care facility at the age of 17. I am hoping to find regular babysitting on the weekends while school is in session to then work more hours in the summer months in at-home childcare. I've lived in Vermont for nearly 3 years after spending 10 years in western Colorado where I also babysat and housesat regularly until 2020. My summers in Vermont have been spent working for the Green Mountain Club as a backcountry caretaker on Camel's Hump and Sterling Pond, but this coming summer I would like to hike recreationally rather than professionally. With my GMC caretaking I have attained a certifications in both CPR and Wilderness First Aid. Now that I have settled fully into Vermont I am hopeful to begin babysitting again and look forward to hearing from future families :)

I started babysitting and nannying occasionally when I was in high school. I get along well with kids, and most kids I meet and care for seem to really like me! I like to play, draw, do crafts, cook and other things with the kids. I like to engage my kids with other things like nature and imaginary play, instead of the use of things like iPads or tablets. I most recently nannied for a 3 year old girl 2 summers ago. I really enjoyed my time with her, as we got to go outside a lot and be in nature in my hometown in Vermont. That particular age group is harder, and never having experienced it before took a little learning. By the end of the summer and my time with her though, I do feel confident in my skills working with that age group. Most other jobs I will take on are usually one time only, or a seasonal job. I lived in a resort town so I did a lot of watching of kids of all ages while their parents went and skied.
