Hello! My name is Kelly, I’m 24 years old and a graduate of the University of Vermont with a degree in Marketing. I have over 11 years of experience working with children, beginning at age 13. My background includes a wide range of childcare responsibilities—from in-home babysitting and school pickups to driving children to extracurricular activities and teaching them how to ski and swim. I’m passionate about outdoor activities like skiing, swimming, and exploring nature, and I love incorporating these interests into engaging, safe, and enriching experiences for the children I care for.

I started babysitting and nannying occasionally when I was in high school. I get along well with kids, and most kids I meet and care for seem to really like me! I like to play, draw, do crafts, cook and other things with the kids. I like to engage my kids with other things like nature and imaginary play, instead of the use of things like iPads or tablets. I most recently nannied for a 3 year old girl 2 summers ago. I really enjoyed my time with her, as we got to go outside a lot and be in nature in my hometown in Vermont. That particular age group is harder, and never having experienced it before took a little learning. By the end of the summer and my time with her though, I do feel confident in my skills working with that age group. Most other jobs I will take on are usually one time only, or a seasonal job. I lived in a resort town so I did a lot of watching of kids of all ages while their parents went and skied.

I’ve been working as a childcare provider for two years, and I really enjoy it! I started with babysitting as a teenager and discovered how much I love helping kids feel safe, happy, and encouraged. I like to keep things fun and creative, whether we’re playing games, doing crafts, or learning something new. I also make sure to keep clear communication with parents by giving updates and being available when needed. My goal is to make life a little easier for parents while making sure kids are cared for and having a good time! I know first aid and am CPR certified. I am happy to help with light house keeping and meal prep. I own a car. I do have a day job as a bank teller so I am available M-Th 4:30-10pm | F 5:30-10pm | and Sundays anytime.
