I recently moved to Hugo after living in South Dakota for many years. While there, I consistently babysat for a family with five children, ranging in age from a newborn to 10 years old, multiple times a week for four years. I’m currently a senior in high school and truly miss spending time caring for kids. I’m available Monday through Friday starting in the early afternoon (about noon), and I’m also free on weekends. While I’m not currently CPR certified, I’m more than willing to complete certification. I have experience with children of all ages, with a special love for babies and toddlers. I’m comfortable with meal preparation, diaper changes, homework help, and engaging kids in crafts and playtime. I’m excited to combine my creativity and love for children in a part-time nanny role or as a babysitter for your kiddos!

I used to babysit for about 4 years. The child I babysat had intellectual disabilities, I helped with homework tasks, room cleaning, cooking and of course just having some fun. I am CPR certified. I worked in a group home for 1 year taking care of 4 fully dependent adults. I did daily house cleaning tasks, bathing/toileting, medication administration, cooked meals daily and came up with fun tasks to keep them entertained.

I love working with kids because of the teaching element that I can help with; toddlers are constantly learning and asking questions, so I find that it's really helpful to kids if somebody is willing to be there to help them safely explore their world. I have formal training in first aid, and informal training in CPR. I am a very safety-conscious person, I'm always on the lookout for anything that could be harmful. My approach to discipline is not to punish, but to teach. I do not believe in physical discipline. I find that most of the time when a child is acting out, they really just need somebody to talk to them about their struggles, and I will always be that person to guide them into how to properly express their feelings. Hi! My name is Kate. I am 39 years old. I live in Oakdale, MN, and I have 3 boys. Luke, my oldest, just turned 18. Matt is 9, and Logan is 5 years old. Now that all my boys are in school, I have some open time. I was a teacher for 14 years. I taught private kindergarten, first, second, and 3rd grade. I was A stay at home Mom for 6 years. Now I have decided to fo back to school to be a paramedic and am currently enrolled in school. 90% of it is online and at my own pace so I can work around any time I am needed. I absolutely love children. One of my favorite thingd is is to see a child learn something for the very first time. The smile they get when something first clicks with them is the best moment with kiddos I think. I have taught many kiddos and I have loved them all as if they were my own. There are so many fun teaching opportunities every day I try to take those moments to really show the kiddos how proud I am of them! Being silly and laughing having fun is also very important A dirty kiddo is one who had fun and played hard (don't worry Moms I'm good at cleaning up to! Lol) We have a golden retriever her name is Rosie she is a crisis response animal sometimes when bad situations happens like school shootings, mass shootings, natural disasters, hospital visits and nursing home visits we will get dispatched out and we hop on a plane and go help out and share the love and support of a golden to help people feel better. Our rosie girl just turned 10 so we don't travel far as often anytime unless there was a big need for ALOT of Goldens.
