Hi, my name is Alison! I love working with kids and have many years of experience caring for children of all ages. I started babysitting my younger cousins when I was just 7 years old, and since then I’ve worked in multiple childcare settings including the Boys & Girls Club, nannying for families, and most recently teaching. This past year, I worked at Chiemsee Castle as a lead teacher, primarily with 3-year-olds but also with children ranging from 5 months to 6 years old depending on classroom needs. I wrote and implemented lesson plans for my class that included science, sensory, engineering, math, writing, and art, making learning both fun and engaging for young children while supporting their development in multiple areas. For the past three years, I have also nannied for the Boeing/Keller family, caring for three children (now ages 4, 6, and 8). My responsibilities have included preparing meals, managing bedtime routines, diaper changes, fun excursions, and household chores. I’ve supported the 6-year-old with speech therapy practice and worked closely with the oldest child on emotional regulation and behavioral challenges. This family lives in the fox valley area however, and I am currently looking for work near Stevens Point. I am very hands-on and love to play—whether it’s hide and seek, make-believe, water balloon fights, or simply reading and relaxing together. I enjoy being both active and creative with kids. I love being a sitter because it's super rewarding to watch them learn and grow while you're helping them out. Plus, every day is different and you get to be creative with activities and games. I've had the chance to babysit for two different families before, which has been an incredible experience. With both families, I looked after their daughters both around 6-7 years old after school, creating fun art projects and outdoor games to keep them entertained. I started babysitting at the age of 9 years old and when I was 12 I took the babysitting course. Once I graduated high school I worked at a daycare center for a year and a half and then I got another full-time job and ended up watching my cousin’s kiddos after my full-time job for a few hours every night. In the meantime I ended up getting married to my husband (just celebrated 16 years in July) and went through years of infertility until we finally decided to adopt our 2 kiddos…our son is now 11 & our daughter is now 9. After my son was born I ended up being a stay at home mom and did childcare out of my house for the last 11 years.

I’m very passionate in helping guide our children in the right direction by teaching kindness and love. I've worked on and off in both in-home and established daycare facilities for 4 years with children ranging from newborn to 7 years old. I hope to incorporate what I learned in these experiences to my own in home daycare.
