Hi! My name is Abbi. I'm originally from Eden WI , but just recently relocated back to WI from living in ND for 5 years. I enjoy playing piano, paddleboarding, hiking, painting and many other things. I owned and operated a small daycare in WI for two years. With eight children ages 5 months to 12 years of age. I also worked as a teachers assistant at Dickinson public school/ Head Start in Dickinson ND for a year. I am first aid and cpr certified.

I absolutely LOVE working with children!!! I used to work at a daycare full-time, and I worked for a wonderful family last year for almost 6 months watching there 2 boys 3 days a week minimum until they moved to a different city. Otherwise, I would still be working for them, because the family really liked me and still does, and the boys both loved me, especially the 3 year old, seeing as he still talks about me almost a year later. I have a letter of recommendation, in which, the wife wrote for me. I have experience working with infants, as well as potty training. The mom of the two boys would speak well of me potty training her oldest son, seeing as the other boy was almost a year old when my time with them ended. Therefore, he was still in diapers when I left, but she would love it if I were able to be there to potty train him too, when he is old enough. I would love to be a part of your family, if it's a good fit for all of us, because I want your family to have the proper caretaker working with your child/children that best fits their needs, seeing as that is what I would be there for. I also enjoy cooking and cleaning, and cleaning up before I leave is a non-negotiable, because I like my work area to be clean, as well as neat and tidy, especially when the job is complete for the day. I want you to come home to a clean environment as well.

Working with youth has been a primary role in my previous work and volunteer experiences through which I have gained a passion for working with young people, helping them grow and learn to understand the world around them in a mindful manner. I began my journey babysitting in high school, as many teenagers do. While attending UW-Madison, I tutored middle schoolers and worked as a history tour guide for elementary school children at the Wisconsin Historical Museum. After receiving my degree, I knew I wanted to continue with an education path. I dedicated a year of volunteer through City Year-Americorps, where I provided academic and behavioral interventions for 3rd and 4th graders. For the last three years I have been working at a highly accredited child development center, with children from infants-school age. I have since gained my early childhood education credentials, attaining a level 12 on the Registry, and becoming CPR, AED, SIDS, and Shaken Baby Syndrome certified along with earning my T910-Short Term Substitute teaching license. What sets me apart is my wide variety of experience in working with youth, it has always been a passion of mine and I've been so fortunate to have all of these great opportunities.
