Care for my Father

My dad is in hospice care. He is still mobile but is unsteady and has fallen a few times over the last month. Because of this, he is at a point where care is needed. The need currently is for someone that can be there to help watch him and help out when he needs it (helping with his laundry if he asks, cooking a couple of small meals (nothing big, he eats very little), etc.). I will set up his medicine each week when I stay with him, but I'll ask that you ensure that he takes it every day because he is bad about skipping doses,

As his condition worsens, the duties will increase but we will have to discuss those as we find out what they will be. I'm sure it will move more towards mobility related tasks like helping him to/from bed and the living room and the bathroom, possibly feeding him, etc.

He may get to a point where he needs help with bathing himself, but that will be provided by hospice so you will never be responsible for providing that care. The nurse currently comes twice a week so she will handle all of his wound care. He is a DNR so CPR is not required. If he stops breathing, you will just need to call hospice and/or 911 (I need to find out the correct protocol for this).

I plan on staying with him Fridays and probably Thursdays as well so the days that his care is needed would be three or four days a week. You can choose which ones, but Monday is required because that is when the hospice nurse is going to be there. Hours are completely flexible as well with the exception of needing to be there Monday when the nurse comes by.
