Pay rate may be greater depending on experience. Seeking a care companion for a sweet, school-aged young man, 17 years old, with autism and intellectual disability. He needs an adult over 18 to get him off his school van and help keep him safe until I am done working or get home. Hours are about 2:30/2:45 until 4:30/5:00 or earlier. Commitment to being on time is essential for safety reasons, as well as a commitment to show up every scheduled day. The shift duration can be shorter for some days as needed. Additional behavioral technician will be present when you are here (autism support). Duties include unlocking the door, ensuring my son gets in the house when his van arrives; helping with snack, and simple interaction. He's a pretty cool kid, but lacks full communication skills, so you can interact as much as needed. The behavior technician will be doing much of the interaction and support. Start date is somewhat flexible.
- Very receptive to outside help
- Age range: Under 55 years old
