My 84-year-old mother is relocating to my apartment and I would like her to have some companionship 1-3 times a week for a few hours while I am at work. She is from Cape Verde Islands so she speaks Cape Verdean Creole and Portuguese and speaks English, but it would be great if there was someone culturally or linguistically compatible. She is diabetic and sometimes forgets to eat/doesn't have much appetite, so it would be good for her to have someone to remind her to eat/make something for her. She sometimes has severe pain, so assistance with getting her positioned with a heating pad or applying topical medicine would be helpful and ensuring she takes her mid-day medication. At this point, I do not know how often I would need assistance nor exactly what she would like, but I would like to get a sense of who/what is available and pricing options. Thank you very much.
