Heather H. Care Companion in Auburn, AL 36830

I am a caring woman in her 30's taking on another "career" that I have felt lead to. I am from Auburn and just moved back from Mountain Brook, AL to take care of my mother who had terminal cancer. I assisted her with her every day needs. She did not want hospice so I was her caretaker. I had a career for 9 years but I left it behind to be with my mother. I took on a huge job and responsibility. I had to get my mom out of bed to go potty or to take a bath, help change her diaper and put clean clothes on. She could do this herself until I had to step in and help. I also helped her eat, although the she was stubborn about that but I tried to make anything she could get down. I also kept a chart of her daily medications and the times I gave them. I was her companion, I read to her and talked to her everyday. I even tried to keep up her energy levels by walking or sitting up.
She was my mother whom I will forever miss, however I know I am capable of taking care of yours if I can supply your loved ones with similar care or just companionship. I love to learn from the elderly. My dad is a nurse and has helped with housing mentally challenged beautiful people, only by option do they choose to live in one of the houses. My grandad also has cancer and passed at the Bethany House- hospice facility. I even got him up and walking and talking and singing to me in his final days. I was the last one he took a stroll with.
I am one caring human being that just wants to pay it forward and feel like I can help make a difference and or keep your loved on feeling loved and not alone.
I am refreshing my CPR certification and others that may help your decision making easier.
I just want to help others while enduring the aging process of their loved ones and give encouragement. Just have Hope,
