Ivory’s Bio
My name is Ivory Lewis, & I got into care giving due to my grandparents. My grandfather was diagnosed with dementia and Lou Gehrigs disease (also known as ALS), while my grandmother suffered with Rheumatoid arthritis. I did everything they needed, from the grocery shopping, medicine administration, and taking them to doctors appointments. I also helped with the care of my adopted cousin, that has autism. I've taught special needs children in Hoover City schools for a little over 4 years, which definitely helped with him. I went on to care for my mother off & on, until she succumbed to her disease in November of 2021, as well as my father's home hospice care; until his untimely passing in December of 2022. I know it may be a lot to some, but I love caring for others. You get to meet a lot of wonderful people, as well as learn fun facts about their lives. It also makes me feel good knowing that I helped enrich their lives in some way.
