I love working with the elderly there is so much you can learn from them. I could listen to there stories for days. My father had dementia and I took care of him In his home and I was a paid caregiver. I wasn't going to let anyone else take care of him I had heard horror stories of nursing home abuse and my father was staying right where he felt comfortable, in his house and me taking care of him. It worked out really well for the both of us. I have experience with anything that comes along with the elderly in there right mind and dementia patients. My father was a dementia patient. I can handle just about anything that comes with taking care of your loved one and believe me they will be treated with the utmost respect. My training and skills comes from trial and error with the care of my father sometimes it was challenging but after a few times we got it right. With any elderly adult you have to learn from them what they like and prefer before you both get in sync with each other, especially dementia patients. I feel This is one of the most rewarding job a person can take on. It builds your character and gives you a certain perspective of what you can expect as you grow older.
