Hey I'm Kristen, a 29 year old with a passion to help others. I got introduced to home care through my aunt who has been doing care companion work for over 10 years. I recently had a patient I would go sit with and met the family and started working for their mother with severe dementia. For me that's all I know bc the only grandparent I was close with growing up had dementia and from a young age I always thought that was just the normal way of getting old. That's when I saw my true passion and care for these elderly people. I never had much time with my grandparents so endless story telling and chatting is my favorite thing. I used to bring my embroidery bag with me to visit with the last home care patient and she would have a blast seeing the little embroidered keepsakes I gave her. Sometimes in life I think the elderly are overlooked when in reality they were still my age at one point in life. I always show as much respect and affection as I would do for my own family. I have very flexible hours and would love to chat about the job if still needed!
