I have over 15 years experience as a caregiver for patients from bedridden, dementia and young juveniles transition from the system to life. I listen and try to always allow the client to feel heard, it is key to encourage independence and self reliance, while providing assistance with and issues the client has issues with ( from day to day skills to reminders they are a partner in their care ).
I have experience with sever dementia, living with a patient for 2 years. I provided daily assistance in physical therapy and dietary issues, both for those suffering mental limitations and those just trapped in a physical limit of the body. My bedridden patient never had a bed sore in over 10 years of daily care. I also have worked with those who had mild autism and just need one on one encouragement and direction for their independence.
I have CPR training, dementia training.
