I’m a registered nurse taking a break for the field. I have worked with adult populations my entire career. I’ve worked on inpatient hospital units such as: neurology, general/medical floor, recovery room, ICU, and solid organ transplant. Before becoming a nurse I worked at a nursing home. I was responsible for ensuring my residents were bathed, toileted, dressed, and basic hygiene completed. This job gave me an appreciation for working with senior. I really enjoyed getting to know my residents. I did my best to brighten their day! was also an in home caregiver for an elderly client. I helped her get into bed and then worked a night shift. (She often woke up at night and needed assistance). In this role I also was there for emotional support and companionship. I would take her out for dinner, work on puzzles with her, and of course chat. We got to know each other very well.
