My name is Edie, I am 54 years old and I love spending time with the elderly. When I was 8 years old, I spent nights on the weekends at my Great Grandmother’s house to give my Mother some respite time. When I was 14 years old, I became a candy-striper at the rest home where my Great Grandmother had to go for her own safety.
I took a course in college in which I became a Certified Emergency Technician. While I am no longer certified, I do know what to do in case of an emergency.
I feel my calling in life is that of a caregiver. For 23 years I was a stay at home wife and mother. My son is 29 years old and my grandson is 3 years old. Recently my Mother lived with me for 3 years, after her husband suddenly passed away, because she couldn't live on her own. She did have to go to assisted living. when she was no longer safe in our home with access to the kitchen due to early dementia. I spent most of my time visiting with my Mother and the other residents at the assisted living home. Unfortunately 1 ½ years ago my Mother passed due to a falling accident.
I am available most of the time since I am retired. I can take care of your loved one, usually with short notice. I have a clean driving record; my car is very safe, and fully insured. As long as they are ambulatory, I can take your loved one to the store, doctors appointments or wherever they may want or need to go.
As you can see I have had a lot of experience spending time with and taking care of the elderly. My pay is negotiable. I didn't want to quote a rate, but this form requires at least one rate in each category. That is very difficult with all the variables there are to consider
