I have worked as a companion for a 41-year-old autistic man for 11 years while his mother was at work. However, his mother, a CSUDH professor and past department chair, will retire in a few weeks and will no longer require my services. I have a letter of recommendation from her. Prior to working with the autistic client, I have provided care for a dementia patient, done chores/housework for senior citizens and cared for a 90-year old woman on hospice care. I can do a variety of tasks and can take care of animals as well. I write for a Long Beach bi-weekly newspaper and have a BA degree in communications: journalism but do caregiving on the side to supplement my income and do something that is meaningful to me and helpful to others. I am ready to assist you.
