I have worked with special needs adults and children for many years . I use to work at a Day program for mentally handicap adults, I’ve worked with deaf and blind, familiar with Mary Johnson symbols, administrated meds , ran IPP’s and ITP’s and behavioral programs , I also worked with higher functioning adults which they had a job they worked at the thrift shop , I’ve worked in the homes as well and assisted them in chores, ran their programs , grooming skills . I have enjoyed working with special needs for as long as I can remember , I was a TA for the special ED class in high school for my 11th and 12th grade year , I’m CPR certified , I took an ABIT course (self defense class). The pure happiness, admiration the unconditional joy and appreciation that you see on a special needs child or adult is all I need to keep coming back. And knowing that you are helping and providing assistance to someone that can’t do it themselves is overwhelming gratifying in itself
