I come from a social work background where I have been supporting individuals during difficult periods in their lives. Throughout the years, I have worked directly with children, youth, young adults, seniors and families from diverse cultural, educational, and socioeconomic backgrounds. For instance, I have worked within many different settings like residential properties, hospitals, schools connecting clients with appropriate resources and assistance programs in their communities, along with developing and implementing short and long-term intervention plans with individuals or families.

Throughout my career as a social worker I have worked with an array of clients and truly cherish the one-on-one work with them. For example, I worked in a group home supporting 8 wonderful men who had a developmental disability. Helping them with cleaning, laundry, cooking, money management, social interactions, and job searching. One client broke his knee and I helped promote routine physical exercise during a very difficult time for him. I have also been a companion for a senior citizen taking her out to see the cherry blossoms, grocery shopping, arts & crafts projects at home, and being her friend.

True healing comes from building a healthy trusting relationship with others and I believe that we are all here to help each other. We all have a gift to give to the world so it can become a better place. My gift is helping others realize they are more than their disability/ they are more than the obstacle they are up against, whatever the challenge maybe we are more than that! I see the light in others and their abilities to move forward in their journey.
