Hello, I'm Blake, and I've been living in SoCal for around 8 months, and for 7 months, I spent time working as a certified Direct Support Professional. I became a caregiver due to opportunity, but found myself enjoying the work, as I found helping others to be humbling and rewarding. In my role, I was responsible for direct care and supervision of four adult aged males with low-functioning autism (nonverbal), in a specialized home (SFAF). My responsibilities included (but were not limited to): Medication assistance, applied daily living (ADL), hygiene, cooking, cleaning, transportation, and crisis management.
