As a Senior caregiver, I understand the importance of needing some one reliable. I have a recent and completed background check and references that you can refer to on the sittercity sight. In addition, you are able to view comments on a few of the clients that I have had the opportunity to provide a variety of services to through Sittercity.
My objective: Seeking a professional caregiving positions offering on-going professionalism, and genuine care about people that translate that attitude into action that makes a difference in peoples lives. In addition, I am constantly updating myself with information in the elderly population by seeking training opportunities.
In addition, I have 20+ years experience working in the Health & Human Service field as a protective service worker (social worker). I worked with the elderly population, adults & children with disabilities. In addition, I looked after children raging from the ages of Newborn to 18 years old. As three of my children are now at school, my job as their mother has allowed me to work various hours while obtaining the goals to further my education. I will be completing my degree in the Masters Program of Social Work at San Diego State University. Hence, I am in need of a new position and for which I would be glad to enclose my resume for your attention upon your request.
I began working as a caregiver by assisting adults with disabilities case management services and working with elderly population through different senior caregivers agencies since 1992.
I love working with people and I take my responsibilities very seriously. I assure you of my honesty and integrity.
My most recent senior care giving position with sitterycity was with a 90 years old gentleman. Initially, I was hired part-time to spend time with him and assist with cooking, transportation to the store, doctor's appointment and other errands. However, he began to need more assistance than his daughter alone could provide.
Shortly after being hired as a companion/caregiver my 90 year old friend required several hospitalization and started to need 24/7 complete caretaker assistance. Was able to organize two other caregiver assistance to cover the hours that I was not able to. I had organized all the caregiver shifts to cover his needs by setting up a notebook to track his blood pressure, medication schedule, weight and everything else needed for the on going visiting nurse. In addition, a communication log was implemented that helped keep everything straight between the three caregivers.
I have cared for seniors with the following conditions or needs: Stroke, Hip Replacement, Alzheimer's Disease, Cancer, Catheter, Diabetes, Feeding Tube, Hospice, Parkinson's Disease. I enjoy providing assistance to seniors and would like to continue to develop my caregiving skills by providing one-on-one care as a professional caregiver.
I have also assisted senior clients with Activities of Daily Living. The assignments I provided were the following: Assisted with personal care, meals, housekeeping, medication reminders, grocery shopping, escorted to doctor's appointments and engaged in daily activities, including organizing mail, managing appointments, reading newspaper and exercising.
In addition, I Assisted patients with bathing, dressing, meals and medications. Maintained patient records, updated R.N. on duty and assisted patients with preparation and recovery for any additional hospital tests and services.

Wanda worked with our preschooler as his one on one aide in a typical preschool since last year October till he graduated to Kindergarten this year. We would have definitely continued with her if he were to have one more preschool year. We had very good experience while my son was in her care. My son as well as all other kids at his preschool absolutely adore her. She worked very well with the teachers there and they worked together as a team to help my son.
She made sure that his special needs are taken care of at the same time encouraging independence as much as possible. We were fortunate to have found her at the right time. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for childcare.
We have had Wanda as our girls nanny since the school year 2016. She has been very reliable and prompt. Her support in helping us with after school care is indispensable. We our thankful to her for all the support she has extended to our family
Wanda has babysat for us on multiple occasions, and we are thrilled to have found her. We have used lots of babysitters over the past five years, and she is truly a stand out. Wanda is an amazing caregiver. Our two young daughters (4 years and 1 year) both enjoy spending time with her. She is full of positive energy and has lots of fun ideas for games; I have no idea how she manages to so competently care for our children and still go above and beyond doing little things for us like picking up messes and washing our dishes. Wanda is extremely professional and dependable. My husband and I are feel 100% confident that our children are safe and happy when she is with them. I enthusiastically recommend her caregiving services!
Wanda is the biggest flake and unreliable person I have ever met. She has canceled at the last minute numerous
times as I am a struggling mom with no help.

I HIGHLY, HIGHLY recommend the nanny services of Wanda to anyone who wants to work with someone who absolutely has a true passion for children. Wanda has been our nanny for the past six months for my three children ages 6, 4 and 1 y/o and I am completely blown away at how she is able to manage my 3 small children with such ease. Wanda is always, always punctual, has a big smile on her face, greets the children with a hug and a kiss and has an abundance of energy and love to give. My children absolutely love their time with Wanda and often talk about how she makes great meals for them, reads to them, takes them to the park and how much fun they have together. Wanda has reinforced using good manners and being respectful towards one another. Wanda has helped my 1 year old to learn more words, has taught him baby signs and in general seems to be extremely aware of childrens development in all aspects. Wanda has never had a problem that she could not solve and her frequent response to anything is "no worries."
Wanda has sat for my preschooler son, but has also worked for many months as a classroom aide with him. She's been able to keep him functioning in the classroom through some challenging times while also being connected to him such that he enjoys going to see her at school. A great sitter/nanny!
Wanda is wonderful. She's watched my son twice now and has kept me updated with pictures, which is great. She keeps him involved and busy, not just sitting in front of the TV.
Wanda has been a great help to my husband and I and is wonderful with our daughter Remi. She helped us out on short notice and went to great lengths to accomadate us recently when we were in a bind for a sitter. My daughter loves it when she visits and looks forward for her to come back to play.I would recommend her for any family looking for a reliable babysitter!

I have two girls ages 5 and 18 months. Wanda comes highly recomended. She has always helped me out when I have been in a tight pinch to find someone to watch my girls at last minutes notice. My daughters love spending time with her, and she always comes on time,actually 15 minutes early to check in with me about the girls.
Wanda has sat for our kids a few times and have absolutely helpful and worked great with the kids. Our kids absolutely LOVE Wanda!

Wanda took care of my 90 year old father during the very challenging last months of his life. She gave my father great comfort during this time. With a family to take care of I was not always able to be there for my dad and Wanda really picked up and took responsibility when I couldn't. At one point I myself needed a surgery and Wanda organized 24 hr care for my dad in his home because that is what he needed and I couldn't provide it. After that I realized that my dad's condition wasn't improving and that he really needed to live in an assisted living facility. Even after he moved Wanda and her lovely son would go and visit my dad. He was always cheered up to see them. She even happened to visit him the morning before my dad passed. She is a wonderful warm person. She really connected with my dad and made his last months happier. I am not sure what I would have done without her help to my dad and her emotional support for me.

Whenever I can, I help out a fellow mom with driving, pick ups, drop offs, sick kids, and unexpected challenges. I consider Wanda to be just like one of my other mom/girlfriends. I can call her up to help me out anytime. Because she is a mom who has already raised her own family I don't have to explain to her how to take care of kids or why it's important to pick up the children on time, every time. She knows because she's a mom herself. If I could afford it, I would pay Wanda much more than I do, as she is worth the price of two 20 year old sitters. Whenever I need help she is there. Wanda has taken care of my baby girl a few times. She is just great with babies. She is helpful, funny, energetic and looks for the safety of the baby. You can see that she enjoys being around babies.
Wanda is a great woman, she is very understanding of concerns i have with my daughter and the type of care i expect her to have. My daughter connected with Wanda in a way she doesn't normally connect with adults. I was thrilled to have found someone who i can trust. Wanda has been wonderful with my 7 month old daughter! She is wonderful at playing with, feeding, and putting down my daughter for naps. I almost don't want to brag too much about how much I LOVE Wanda because I don't want anyone to steal her from me! I have two girls under two and they are absolutely in love with her. She had a tea party with my oldest girl, took them to the park, feed them both, and had them both down for a nap. I have NEVER felt comfortable when I have had to leave my children with other people until I meet Wanda and I plan on using her on a regular basis!
