I have a soft spot for seniors because of my upbringing. I spent a lot of time with my grandfather and grandmother.
I have worked in an Assisted Living home in Long Beach and currently work as an Engagement Specialist with seniors with dementia and Alzheimer's.

My job requires me to create activities that are tailored to the resident's personalities, interests and past to make a more fulfilling experience. But my roles goes beyond that for I also have to be a caring companion for those times they lose themselves and need guidance or a caring figure they feel they can trust.
My job site allows for residents to have their own pets so I have taken care of cats and dogs of fellow residents. This includes walking, grooming and bathing, feeding and medication management.

With the passing of my grandmother and grandfather, I feel now the greater want to help families and their elders because I know from experience how hard it is to find someone you can trust with a love one.
