Faida’s Bio
Why do you love being a caregiver?
I love being a caregiver because I genuinely care about people and enjoy being there for those who need extra support. When I was young, my mother was very sick, and I never forgot the kindness and care shown by the person who helped her. That experience inspired me to give the same kind of care to others. I’m especially passionate about supporting women who feel more comfortable with a female caregiver when it comes to bathing, dressing, or other personal care needs. I believe every person deserves dignity, respect, and a sense of safety, especially during vulnerable moments.
What experience do you have?
I have provided compassionate care to elderly, disabled, and special needs clients, including women who preferred female assistance for bathing, changing, and other personal hygiene tasks. At the Arc of San Diego, I helped individuals with daily routines, including bathing, dressing, meal prep, and transportation. I also assisted with household management and health and safety tasks, always focusing on maintaining the client's privacy and comfort.
What skills and training do you have?
I am skilled in personal care assistance, infection control, dementia care, and hospice/end-of-life support. I can monitor vital signs, assist with mobility, and provide emotional support through companionship. I’m reliable, empathetic, and attentive to cultural and personal preferences especially when clients feel more secure with a woman caregiver for sensitive care tasks. I also speak English, French, and Swahili, which helps me build trust with clients from diverse backgrounds.
