My first experience caring for anyone outside my family was for a sweet visually impaired, wheelchair bound woman when I was 16 years old. They asked for volunteers at our church to go by her nursing home to dress her and bring her to church. I thought to myself, I can do that, and I did! A year and half later I was still getting Donna ready every Sunday! Hi! My name is Laurie MacKenzie. Since that time, I have had many wondeful experiences that have given me the opportunites to serve people who have been unable to care for themselves, I have experience working in nursing homes with the elderly. I have 15 years experience working with all ages of people who struggle with special needs . I have worked in the school system as well as respite situations. I know my friends and former employers would describe me as patient, kind and conscientious employee. I derive great pleasure from taking care of others and being around people. I am CPR and First Aid and CPI certified. I am an artist in my spare time!
