I was a D1 athlete turned. D1 coach turned stay at home mom after moving to Germany for three years. I am back in the USA now and looking for ways to help others. My nana had Alzheimer’s and lived with my family and I for 7/8 years before her she passed away. I have done it all when it comes to the care of an Alzheimer’s patient including hygiene, companionship, doctor visits/hair salon visits, walks, feeding, and more. I know the harsh reality of this disease including anger outbursts, unfiltered words, wandering, running away etc, but also I know with this disease it does not have to all be sad there is lots of room for laughter and humor. One of my parents biggest struggle (being my nana full time caregivers) was finding a reliable, trustworthy caregiver they could have come over when they had to leave the house for an extended amount of time or when they just needed some help with my Nana from someone who didn’t judge and understood the disease. I’m passionate about being that person for a family and also having the opportunity to get to know your loved one and give them the best possible care.
